The Kinky Tourist covers 16 cities across four continents, from established scenes like Berlin and San Francisco to smaller but active ones like Zurich and Auckland. Each city guide covers the local BDSM and fetish clubs, swingers venues, shops, and events. Click a pin on the map or scroll the list below to find your next city.
London
London runs one of the biggest and most established kink scenes in Europe, with dedicated fetish clubs, munches most nights of the week, and a long-running TV/TS scene alongside it.
Berlin
Berlin built its reputation on blurring nightlife and fetish culture decades before it became fashionable elsewhere, and that overlap between techno clubs and kink is still what the city does best.
Amsterdam
Amsterdam pairs its famous Red Light District with a genuinely active swingers and BDSM scene once you look past the tourist strip along the canals.
Paris
Paris leans into elegance more than most cities here, with private clubs and dress-code parties that feel closer to a salon than a sex club.
Prague
Prague punches well above its size: a real annual fetish weekend, several dedicated BDSM and swingers clubs, and fetish shopping in Zizkov, all at prices that go a lot further than Western Europe.
Zurich
Zurich’s scene is compact but real, built around a couple of established swingers clubs and one fetish party brand that has been running for three decades.
Munich
Munich doesn’t advertise its scene the way Berlin does, but there’s a real one here once you get past the city’s beer hall reputation.
Tel Aviv
Tel Aviv’s kink scene is smaller than the big European capitals but noticeably more open, helped by a nightlife culture that already runs late and loose.
San Francisco
San Francisco has one of the deepest kink histories anywhere, home to the Folsom Street Fair and a leather community that has been organized for decades.
Bangkok
Bangkok’s adult entertainment scene is enormous and easy to find, though the more specifically kink-focused spots take a bit more digging than the go-go bar strips.
Los Angeles
Los Angeles spreads its scene across the whole city, from dungeon-style clubs to a fetish fashion crowd that sits closer to the mainstream than in most places.
Madrid
Madrid’s nightlife runs later than almost anywhere else in Europe, and the kink scene rides that same after-midnight energy, centered partly around the Chueca district.
Hong Kong
Hong Kong keeps things more discreet than most cities on this list, with adult shopping easier to find than dedicated clubs.
Stockholm
Stockholm’s famously relaxed Scandinavian attitude toward sex carries over into a kink scene that feels more matter-of-fact than secretive.
Auckland
Auckland’s scene is small by international standards, but New Zealand’s easygoing culture means what’s there tends to be welcoming to newcomers.
New York City
New York has one of the oldest organized kink scenes anywhere, home to The Eulenspiegel Society, the first BDSM organization in the US, still running weekly classes more than fifty years after it started.
