  2. Visit a ghost market: The Tai O village, located on Lantau Island, is home to a market that specializes in selling ghost-related items such as paper offerings, joss sticks and talismans.
  3. Visit the “Tin Hau” temple dedicated to the goddess of seafarers, this temple is located in the Joss House Bay is a small bay on the northeastern coast of Hong Kong Island.
  4. Experience a traditional Chinese medicine treatment: Hong Kong is home to many traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, who offer a variety of treatments such as acupuncture, cupping, and herbal remedies.
  5. Visit the Cat Street Market, a market known for its vintage and antiques shops, which offer everything from traditional Chinese furniture to old-fashioned toys and curios.
  6. Take a trip to the “Symphony of lights” in Victoria Harbour, a laser light and music show that takes place every night at 8pm.
  7. Visit the “Wong Tai Sin Temple” a Taoist temple known for its fortune-telling services, which include practices such as face reading and palmistry.

My trip report

During my recent trip to Hong Kong, I had the opportunity to experience some of the city’s more unusual and unique activities.

I began my trip by visiting the Hong Kong Story of Yan, a theme park dedicated to Chinese mythology located at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. The park features animatronics and 3D projections of characters and stories from Chinese myths and legends, offering a fascinating glimpse into the country’s rich cultural heritage.

Next, I took a trip to the Tai O village, located on Lantau Island, to visit the ghost market. The market specializes in selling ghost-related items such as paper offerings, joss sticks and talismans, and it was a unique and interesting experience to see the different items being sold and learn about their significance in Chinese culture.

I also had the opportunity to experience a traditional Chinese medicine treatment at one of Hong Kong’s many traditional Chinese medicine practitioners. I received an acupuncture treatment, which was both relaxing and beneficial for my health.

On another day, I visited the Cat Street Market, a market known for its vintage and antiques shops. I found myself walking through rows of traditional Chinese furniture, old-fashioned toys, and curios. I also enjoyed browsing through the different shops, looking for unique souvenirs to take home.

Another highlight of my trip was taking a trip to the “Symphony of lights” in Victoria Harbour, a laser light and music show that takes place every night at 8pm. The show was truly mesmerizing, and I enjoyed watching the lights and music.

Lastly, I visited the Wong Tai Sin Temple, a Taoist temple known for its fortune-telling services. I had my fortune read by a fortune-teller, who used practices such as face reading and palmistry, it was a interesting and informative experience.

Overall, my trip to Hong Kong was filled with unique and unusual experiences that I will never forget. From visiting the ghost market to experiencing traditional Chinese medicine treatments, I was able to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the city’s rich cultural heritage.
